Altar Server Ministry

The mission of the Altar Server Ministry at Maria Lanakila Parish is to provide an opportunity for young parishioners to actively participate in the tradition of Catholic worship. As Altar Servers young parishioners assist the priests and deacons with processions, blessings, rituals, etc. during the celebration of Mass and other sacred ceremonies.

We welcome all interested parish members who have already received the sacrament of First Holy Communion. Training is generally provided once a year Trained Altar Servers are then scheduled for serving at Mass. Regular calendar notifications are issued directly to Altar Servers.

Social activity like alter servers’ appreciation day with fun, game and food is arranged once a year to enjoy and develop as a team.

Lk 19:45-48 These merchants and money lenders that Jesus finds in the temple are gouging the poor. Jesus exerts his authority by driving them out and then takes his rightful place as teacher. This infuriates the Jewish leaders, but the people listen to his every word. You cleansed the temple to take your rightful seat as the one true teacher.
