Ushers and Greeters Ministry

The mission of the Usher and Greeter at Maria Lanakila Parish is that of hospitality. Our service makes parishioners and guests feel welcome and comfortable as we gather for our Eucharistic celebration. Our ushers and greeters are able to see the presence of Christ in each person as he or she arrives. Skillful ushers and greeters ensure that people experience love and kindness upon entering church.

Ministers of Hospitality play a crucial role as visible signs of Christ’s unconditional love in the church. They distribute materials related to the service, such as bulletins, handouts, etc., be ready for any emergency that may arise, relieving the need or contacting the person(s) needed to provide the proper assistance, assist people for seating especially physically challenged, oversee the right atmosphere conducive for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Lk 19:45-48 These merchants and money lenders that Jesus finds in the temple are gouging the poor. Jesus exerts his authority by driving them out and then takes his rightful place as teacher. This infuriates the Jewish leaders, but the people listen to his every word. You cleansed the temple to take your rightful seat as the one true teacher.
